About PAC

Brief History:

  • First meeting was in April 2019 to establish the PAC. The meeting was presided by then VCR Dr. Armand Crisostomo.
  • Two meetings followed which were to establish processes within the committee and which papers to prioritize (such as up-or-out faculty members, those crossing ranks, etc, although ALL manuscripts submitted are processed.
  • Activities were slowed down from 4th quarter of 2019 to 2020 due to problems with the appointment papers of the Research Associates.
  • The Committee was reconstituted in November 2020 after UP President Concepcion and UP Manila Chancellor Padilla expressed support for the committee particularly in the hiring of research associates.

Tasks:

  • To help faculty members of UP Manila with the publication of their COMPLETED research manuscripts
    • Faculty who have served as advisers for completed student researches that merit publication in peer-reviewed or ISI journals
    • Faculty who have done extensive community based works/projects that need assistance to document, write up and publish their experience
    • Faculty who have completed researches that need assistance to edit or rewrite their articles to meet publication requirements of peer-reviewed/ISI journals
    • Completed graduate student thesis (done by current faculty or the faculty member has served as adviser) that needs to be re-written or converted to publishable format
